Email Configuration & Setup =========================== Default Administrator Email Account (admin@mecipglobal.com) POP3 Username : admin@mecipglobal.com POP3 Password : mecipglobal1122 Mail Server IP : 202.157.189.189 * If your domain name is not ready, you can still start to create your e-mail accounts by logging in to http://202.157.189.189:32000 --------------------------- To create email accounts, log on to http://mail.mecipglobal.com:32000 and provide your login and password for the admin account. Once logged in, click on "New User". For "Alias", put in the name of the email you require. Eg: myemail@yourdomain.com, will have an alias of "myemail". For "Mailbox", put in the FULL email address you require. Eg: myemail@yourdomain.com. Please note that this will be your username. For "Password" and "Confirm", type in the desired password. For "Name", put in the name of the account. Eg: John Doe. Click on Add. POP Email Configuration & Setup =============================== Once accounts have been created, you can maintain your email account (change password, autoresponder, forwarding) by logging to http://mail.mecipglobal.com:32000 and provide your login & password (the respective email account) 1. Setting the Autoresponder Autoresponder enables you to automatically reply to the sender whenever it receive an email. You can configure the message from the controlpanel. After you have logged in, check the box next to "Auto Responder", and then click on "Auto Responder". Type in the response you want, and click on "Save". Click on "Save" when the next page loads up. 2. Forwarding Forwarding enables you to forward mail that you receive to another POP email account (example your Jaring/TMnet account). Forwardings can be created from the controlpanel by logging in with the appropriate email login and password. After you have logged in, fill in the blank next to "Forward To". Make sure that "Mailbox Path" is still selected. If you want to forward all mails without leaving a copy on the server, then select "Remote Address", and fill in the blank next to it with the address of account you wish to forward to. Mail Information ================ The main info that needs to be configured in email programs for retrieving emails: Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server : Your ISP's SMTP (Eg. smtp.tm.net.my or smtp.jaring.my) Incoming Mail (POP3) Server : mail.mecipglobal.com WebMail & WAP Mail Configuration ================================ We provide web-based email should you require the use for it. Log on to http://mail.mecipglobal.com:32000/mail and log in with your username and password. You can also check your emails from WAP-enabled devices (WAP handphones, PDAs etc.) by logging on to http://mail.mecipglobal.com:32000/mail/wap/ and log in with your username and password. Netscape Users ============== For Netscape Users, go to Edit -> Preferences -> Mail Servers Edit Incoming Mail Servers (POP) put Server name as mail.mecipglobal.com Username as username, Outgoing email can put your ISP's SMTP MS Outlook Users ================ Start your Mail System by reading emails, this will get Outlook running : Go to Tools -> Go Straight down to Services -> Add Internet Email -> Click on Servers -> Change Outgoing Mail (SMTP) to your ISPs SMTP, account name as username, Incoming (POP) is mail.mecipglobal.com MS Outlook Express Users ======================== Go to Tools -> Go to Accounts -> Click on Mail -> Add Mail -> Display Name put whatever you need -> Next -> Email address name@yourname.com -> Next -> Incoming mail (POP) put as mail.mecipglobal.com -> account name as username, outgoing server (SMTP) can use ISP's smtp -> Finish WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) ----------------------------------- WAP is now supported on our servers. Your WAP files should have the standard .wml extension with graphics in .wbmp format. CGI Configuration ----------------- 1. Upload the script using ASCII. (must) 2. Make sure you script uses the extension pl and not cgi (must) 3. Test the script from the web. ColdFusion ---------- ColdFusion is supported on our servers. For ColdFusion scripts, they have to be with cfm extensions. Notes ----- 1. Do not use scripts of dubious origins as they may contain bugs that can affect the entire system. 2. Do email us if you have any doubts. Important Notice ---------------- 1. BACKUP ALL FILES BEFORE TRANSFERRING THEM. 2. When logging in always remember that your password is case sensitive (me, Me, and ME would be 3 different passwords) 3. Your first page must be called index.html or index.htm or default.htm or default.asp or index.asp or index.cfm 4. KEEP AN UPDATED LOCAL COPY OF YOUR FILES.
